Dave through the years
« on: July 18, 2020, 11:03:14 am »
This was inspired by the re-upload of "EEVblog #138 - Top 5 Engineering Graduate Tips".
He looks about the same in the pictures.

I think keeping happy, as well as fit, has helped to keep him young.

Not drinking alcohol probably helps a lot too. Although what kind of life is that? (Kidding)

Dave built an android to replace himself.  The real Dave has been retired for ten years and living like a king in Patagonia.

Taking reasonable care of oneself certainly makes a big difference. I've had people tell me I look exactly the same now as I did 10+ years ago, I don't *feel* quite as young as I used to be but everything else is holding up ok. I've got a few friends I've known since highschool and even before that look considerably older than me, much of that is genetic but the ones that drink heavily (I enjoy a drink now and then but not to excess) and especially those who smoke cigarettes look 10 years older.

Same kind of life Jim Williams lived.

Only the hair colour has changed (I blame Youtube).
And I've gained two kids, glasses, and an office instead of the garage.

If it counts, I just ate half a family block of Top Deck chocolate this morning...

FYI, Mrs EEVblog regularly get comments from old high school friends that she looks exactly the same as she did 30 years ago.

How can someone who did not graduate from engineering school give advice about this subject?
Oh no, Dave has been roasted, someone had best call the fire authority immediately!

CGI is pretty good these days, ain't it!

to paraphrase Morpheus from the Matrix.. 'Is that Dave you're watching?'
Not easy, not hard, just need to be incentivised.

How do you stop at half a block? I open a block, then a short snack-ident later, all gone!

Dave has probably invented time travel and he is taking some nanobot based anti-aging drug from the future.

That also explains why he has so many oscilloscopes. He is probably selling them as vintage equipment in 2050. They must be very pricey since unlike 90% of equipment in 2050 they don't require an online account in order to work.
They don't also need 50GB of updates every week to stay compatible with AI powered, cloud based, trigger as a service functionality.

Look! He even has blueprints for flux capacitor:
