If you have studied electricity and magnetism, you will recognize the name Michael Faraday.
This morning I found this video. It contains the simplest explanation of Michael Faraday's observations that I have ever heard. Well, it seems simple now. Was quite a revelation in his time, no doubt.

The modern apparatus in the video is even more impressive. Thought you might enjoy a look.
