Good quality capacitors New Zealand
« on: May 25, 2021, 06:18:00 am »
Anyone know where you can get some good quality capacitors in New Zealand?

Looking for something a bit better than you can get at Jaycar. Caps like Panasonic, nichicon and so on.

Any help would be great.

Cheers

Probably best to order online from the usual suspects (Digikey, Mouser, RS components, Element14/Farnell). The cap manufacturers have so many different series/sizes/values/voltages so if a brick and mortar shop stocked them all it would be take up an entire Jaycar sized building and you'd probably be buying stock that has sat on the shelf for 20 years.

Cheers

As above, the big players realistically.

You could try SICC - https://www.sicom.co.nz/ but probably have to call and ask them if they have a name brand

I've tried them. Sadly they won't tell me what brands they stock - and that I can't order form them (they only do B2B apparently)

I've picked up stuff at the RS warehouse before. You could try that. But if you're driving around Auckland you will spend as much in fuel as getting stuff couriered.
