« on: October 30, 2022, 08:27:37 pm »
Anybody know the correct name or a manufacturer of those plastic split cable clamps that fit in an oval hole. There in 2 pieces with a thin strap holding the 2 parts  together, you put them around the cable. push the 2 parts together, then push the assemble into the hole and rotate the whole thing 90 degrees.

The search term is "cable strain relief".
Take it from there.

Na they only  make heaters, but with the assistance of google  i assume you meant Heyco, who indeed make  exactly the thingy i'm after, so cheers.
Strain relief was the clue  i needed ,and with that i was able to find the little buggers on RS. For some reason the name   just totally disappeared out of my brain cell whilst initially trying to track them down.

The other term that might be useful is “cable gland”.

If you're going to use those, make your life easy and get a pair of these:

https://www.heyco.com/Strain_Relief_Bushings/product.cfm?product=Strain-Relief-Assembly-Tools

There are also cheaper versions and they are widely available.  Even the cheap ones work well.
