I ran into a gentleman at a trade show you introduced me to his side project a few years back.

If you like the calculator site you may like what he has been doing, amazing.

I was in Palo Alto last week, :)

I have owned maybe 10+ HP12C. Indestructible little calculators that just keep going.

So why have you owned more than just one?  ;)

It's a useful website for the collector, that's certain.

No denying the quality of that calculator, but why a business calc?

Here's a cheaper clone if you need them in bulk  ;)  http://www.amazon.com/Victor-V12-Financial-Calculator-10-Digit/dp/B001BCRRX4/ref=sr_1_36?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1406785435&sr=1-36&keywords=hp+12+calculator

I have had the same HP15C for 20 years. It is a little worn but still works perfectly with no intermittent buttons.
I also have an HP41CV but it's really too bulky to carry around with you. The 15C fits in a shirt pocket.
The HP11C is also a nice little unit. Never seen the HP12C though.

11C was the first HP I ever bought. Still have it, and is still my go-to calculator for most things.  :)

A 25c Platinum?  Surely you mean a 12c Platinum?

But yeah, I agree the collecting can be an issue.  Still have to work out where to display mine, because a lot of them deserve to be.

  • Why shouldn't we question everything?
    • It's not really a Blog

HP45 for my first HP calculator. It still works, and I still use it sometimes. But mostly use my HP 32SII.
Also have a HP-16C (used a lot in the past) and a HP-48G (never used, can't even remember how I came to have it.)

The first hex calculator I had was a TI 'Programmer'. Still works

For some reason I've always had a strong desire to own one of the HP 98xx series desktop models, like the HP 9830A. As a museum piece. Perhaps I saw some advert in a magazine when young, and the impression stuck. Or perhaps it's that a lot of the manuals for old HP gear I have refers to those in the programming examples.
So far I've resisted the temptation.

Speaking of technology museums, here's one I came across just now. I'm trying to find a manual for a Bruel & Kjaer Heterodyne Voltmeter  Type 2007, and this came up in a search. A university in Netherlands, with a museum of old electronics. Some nice photos.

DOH! Yeah, you're right! ROFL! I really, really, really, really, REALLY want an 11c. But the prices on eBay tend to be crazy. That's my goal though. I won't be surprised if I break down and spend a ridiculous amount on one someday lol. What fun that will be. Le Sigh!

The Museum of calculators is a great site, have you seen the 41 site?  http://www.hp41.org/Intro.cfm
i mainly use a 32SII, I have my father's 45 (still working) and his 15C.
From an Australian guy I bought a 41C with 'gummy wheel' and did the repair job, it came with a bar code reader and printer!
I have bought some new rechargeable batteries for the 45 from ebay store  http://stores.ebay.com.au/VINTAGE-CALCULATORS?_rdc=1
Whoah! Watch where that landed we might need it later.
