Nature: Evolution and the Illusion of Randomness (Stephen L. Talbott): Its now indisputable that... organisms “expertise” contextualizes its genome, and its nonsense to say that these powers are under the control of the genome being contextualized - Barbara McClintock

'Mental health professionals usually define hearing voices as a symptom of medical illness. Many people who hear voices are able to live with them and may consider them a positive part of their lives. Many people hear voices but never find them a problem or need to seek help from mental health services.'  ;)

He posted a bunch of stereotypes about Norway and Norwegians and asked if they are true. Maybe he got second thoughts or someone had a word with him. Since you can no longer delete your own posting if it is the first in a thread he couldn't just delete the whole posting.
I delete PMs unread. If you have something to say, say it in public.

That was my suspicion. I hoped Google's cache made a sweep at the right moment, but alas...

Ah, I see.

I guess most of those stereotypes doesn't fit anyway.  ;)

Well, for the record, I love Norway and have found the Norwegians to be a lovely people who cope with challenging situations well.

The Fjords, Oh those Fjords  :)  Olden is worth a visit if you like idylic surroundings  :)

The Norwegians are also very good friends of the United Kingdom, so they are my freinds.

Norway = absolutely awesome country and spectacular to visit.

One gripe... I went to a Norwegian woman's house for dinner (who lived in Tallinn, but was from Norway).  She served me this raw pickled fish appetizer stuff.  It was just a small fish (like the size of a hot-dog sausage) cut into sections, and pit into incredibly salty water.  Eaten raw, bones and all.

I love fish and I love sushi, but this stuff was something else (in a bad way).  Of course, an acquired taste, but I pretended to like it, and she gave me about half of the bottle in response.

What is that stuff called?
It's not always the most popular person who gets the job done.

A nation that sends its alcohol all the way to Australia and back before its people drink it, deserves some serious scrutiny.  ;D

I am a norwegian, and to be honest, the only real difference between norway and the US is that things here cost waaay more than elswere. We do howerver have a great economy, but thats beside the point. I know nothing of any real stereotypes of us, so I find it kind of weird that someone would go to the effort to make an entire thread about virtually inexistent national stereotypes on an electronics forum.

When it comes to the alcohol, however, everything is fucked up! Usually, for a completely normal sixpack of standard beer, 50+ dollars is not uncommon. stronger wines can end up with more than 50% of the total cost coming from taxes.
And when it comes to food, labor here is so expensive that companies like Findus have their fish shipped all the way to china, to PACK IT, and then shipp it all the way back, just to save some money. In fact, only 40% of our food and general resources are not imported.
Our awesome economy has some upsides and downsides, but I can't really see how that is a stereotype!

Corporate666, that's called pickled herring, I really don't like it.  :P

Some places have a lot of snow, where I live (west-coast) the wind blows it away immediately most of the time.

What is that stuff called?

Ludefisk  (I believe, probably incorrectly spelled)

A bit of an acquired taste. Whether it taste terrific or terrible seems to divide even the Norwegians. (like whether to stack wood bark up or bark down). Or at least, they (my Norwegian friends) told me there are two reasons why Norwegians travel abroad: Either to escape the Ludefisk, or to preach about the Ludefisk.
