Youtube subscription collections disappeared.
« on: May 27, 2015, 07:19:59 pm »
I wonder if anyone else has noticed this, but it would seem that they have deleted the subscription collections and now there is just one long list of all of the channels that you subscribe to. What an absolute nuisance.
"Manage Subscriptions" offers no functionality anymore either.
Surely Google haven't stuffed up again!! They keep messing about with things and then breaking really useful things in the process.

Bugger! I just saw that too.

My subscription list is useless on youtube now.

I found a redditer's suggestion to use feedly, so I did that. It's OK again:

It was suggested to export your subscriptions from Youtube and import them into Feedly and then you can make collections again. I just did it, it's a simple drag and drop process on feedly.  Very quick,  and I think feedly is going to be useful to me for other sites as well now.

I'm going to have to check my account settings, this happened months ago for me so I'm guessing I'm still signed up to some betas.

i can only hope they are implementing something better, it was pretty clunky the way it was before so i never really used that feature much

The Feedly collections seem ok so far as an alternative.

Probably not going to be a clean integration when you add new subscriptions on YouTube though. It will have to be a double add, if you want to have feedly collections and also maintain YouTube subscriptions so you get decent suggestions.
