Ninite is a package management system for Windows. Why one would specifically chose to download their programs like this on Windows is beyond me. Yes that's an accepted practice on Linux, but a unified file system and command interpreter integration makes that a bit more useful, on top of the fact that most repos are hosted by the same people who host the individual distros. Even still, adding more relays, scripts, and other bullshit into the mix doesn't make for better security, if anything that adds more things to go wrong.
Don't give people strange links to what is effectively an aggregate download site (or at least takes the appearance of one), since those have been time and time again perfect breeding grounds for crap, and I would not blame anyone for throwing you out with your links. The safest policy is to ALWAYS get your software (especially on Windows) from the source, and not from any third party mirrors, install scripts, package managers, whatever, and to hash check your downloads if you're concerned. Windows already has a package management system and doesn't need another one.
