a eye pleasing, functional css header doesn't have to be a bandwidth/pixel hog. in fact, the css file for the forum index is almost 3x the size as the file for the blog page! (56K vs 20k) the blog header adds no javascript to my knowledge. i know what you're saying though... just because a developer knows how to make crap fly across the screen doesn't make it good practice.

Sorry, maybe I was using the wrong terms, not sure what its called. Its just I feel very annoyed by those pesky forums that are using those what I called personally a mouse pointer traps.
Its so damn hard just to move the mouse pointer around without triggering some annoying pop-ups, small windows, small pull-down yada..yada even without clicking them, and even on a fast computer like mine an i7 920 quad and with big bandwidth, the mouse pointer stuttered and sort of freeze for a while whenever it hovered across them, and sometimes the browser was like working very hard just to render a single stupid page because of these craps, really hate this.
Also it feels like navigating the mouse pointer thru a maze just to avoid them, when what I wanted was just to read the text content peacefully.
