What about 'roos? Are they tasty, or will you get lynched by an angry mob of locals for even suggesting to eat the national symbol of Oz? :D

I think that it was Sainsburys that had Roo steak on sale here a year or two back, not that I tried it.

It depends on how it is sourced, some times the meat can be very tough, other times it is very tender, the most important thing though is not to overcook it, it will go very tough very quickly.
Makes great steak.

Very healthy roo meat, low fat and low cholesterol.
My local supermarket stock it but at ridiculous prices.

All I get locally is a lot of ostrich, which is very nice and tasty. Stocking up the freezer with is so I will have a few months supply when it dries up again. Nice and tasty, low fat and appreciated on the braai. Next one I will probably pull out the steaks. When asked what it was ( wondering why they wanted more) I replied it was chicken, a very large chicken.

Thank you to the EU for banning imports to protect the local markets there, and then dumping the excess on others at low prices to get rid of it.
