Does anyone have details about this high quality resistors?
« on: November 10, 2013, 02:45:56 pm »
I have some of these very old (date code indicates early 70s) but high quality resitors in my collection. Unforunately I do not have a data-/specsheet.
My first idea was to ask Vishay (because it looks like a Vishay number), but they had or at least found no details.
If anyone has a hint or even a specsheet, that would be great.

Thanks

Dipped laser etched glass metal film resistors. Very nice units, they just do not like any stress on the leads during forming or use, which can crack the internal substrate or the solder joints. Do use a heat shunt on the legs when soldering, as otherwise they can become rather intermittent, or use the full length of the leads when mounting them.

Hello SeanB,

do you know more details, like the TC or where to find a datasheet?

Bye

I just used them, they appeared like magic out of the stores when I ordered spares, all having been bought at the same time in the 1970's. No data other than the ones I was using were made by Thompson CSF and others were Vishay while some were branded SNECMA.

thanks
Do you have a guess what TC they might have?

I know they were better than 12bit over a -55 to 125c range, as they drifted less than 1 count over that range when I was testing the units they were in were subjected to a rise from ambient of 40C to 120C case temp during testing. I would guess they are better than most 5 digit DMM units can measure, and possibly better than a lot of 6 digit units.

That sounds even better than I thought.
Can you guess in which range the TC these resistor were?
