Hey

this one is going to be mine , hence I am asking , the reason I asked here is because It is going to Be A project , the item does beeps ( 3 times according to the seller ) but no flashing display no nothing ( just spinning fan , )

I won the bidding for total of 340$ including shipping , Since the seller didn't responded me fast enough , I simply had to bid , I bid low but then I just raised it 25$ above so if someone is going to bid I may win , And so it was ,

I now wondering what is right to do , troubleshooting is part of learning Electronics , plus If I'll managed the 340$ investment should pay off , so that's okay ( only if I'll managed to ... )

I can Aldo buy Keithley 2700 witch reads 2V or so , when 10.0000V is out of the calibrator ..

if someone know if that's repairable , I'll appreciate if you'll notice tat to me :)

Thank you guys in advance :)

Hey

Thank you Casinada :)

yes I do know things like supply rails can be as simple as zener diode replacement  , but if the mains CPU goes , there I really need the forume's help to deal with that scenario ... if possible at all ( I.e dead unobtainable Hybrid  ... )

the question of mine came from the following :

I got ~1.3K$ , and 280$ in Paypal .. that's total of ~1.6K$ , that's A lot ..

here's the real deal , what will most contribute me ?

1) Aquiering new (used) gear to my lab ? ( some of them need repair hence at fraction of ussual ones)

2) try and buy 4Ch 100Mhz DSOX3014 by trading my scope plus adding 2600$ to the deal and get it ?

well ,no need to mention my problems here , I basically where I was at the age of 13 ... ( In terms of experience .. )

I didn't do Hell lot of projects ... I mean the fun ,simple , and hell lot's of math ...

So no I got the opportunity to do one of the following :

1)buy that 4Ch beast ...
2)buy 5 gear , I'll keep them in secret , but they all gonna chew my budget .. so , well read the last one ,
3) take one step back , breath , and begin with funny small achievable projects (*)

(*)... parts are costy to achieve in here, the shipping costs are too high , that 100% of the real cost of parts , is going to be sometimes made of 40% parts , and .........well . 60% shipping , so one of the ways to try and resist that , is to buy commune parts in high mass  .. ( assortment resistors , caps , pots and led's and so on ... ) but then .. you are throwing hell lots of money for A given time period , well that's really not meant to be discussed in here so I'll stop here ..

so back to the topic , that 340$ supply , is part of list number 2 .. shall I make that into A poll ?
Although I know there can be many rushing guys to say something , well , because everyone does .. while there are fewer guys to choose the more , adult path and that's the one whos gonna help me the most . hence I need to think deep , but as I keep on thinking , well the time pass on and I got tired ( it's now 00:00 at GMT+2 )

Cheers and good night :)

If parts are expensive, what will you use a 4 channel scope?
To probe all the pins of a transistor at the same time?

Don't take me wrong/consider this an offense, it really is a legit question.

hey Senso

I thought I managed to clear that when I said it will chew all of my budget , and by saying that the experience part is missing here and perhaps gear just gonna grow with the need of new abilities .

Hence I am asking the more experienced guys in this forum , they probably got different perspective of mine :)
