Good Info On Batteries...
« on: December 03, 2012, 08:46:25 am »
It looks like my other topic has made it's way over the dismal cliff. But in looking for answers to the last wrinkle introduced, I found what seems a good site for information on batteries.

http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/

http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/types_of_lithium_ion

Found that the archive section of the menu on the left of page is good.  I also finally discovered Dave's fine video tutorials.

I hope this is useful to someone.

Have Fun

That website is amazing, I am glad it exists - I see all sorts of difficult questions being answered by that website that would be so hard to come by otherwise being the average joe...

He doesn't update or support the "Battery university" site.  His company site (bushmann.ca) is much better.

All the info you find at battery university:
http://www.buchmann.ca/toc.asp

His book is only $20 and well worth it.

The third edition was just released with some really useful lithium stuff.

If anyone knows of another good battery source, please link it.  I have found independent battery data hard to find.

Yes, and I am going back over winter to do some more testing :)

Hopefully will be able to build a new tester with 9V/AAA/AA/C/D capability, plus a recharging option for NiMH cycle tests -- if I get the time.

I have already bought £15 worth of discount shop AA's to test... the winners last time were discount shop ones offering nearly identical capacity to the premium cells.

Thanks for that. Knew about battery university but didn't realise there was a more up to date site.
