Hey everyone!
Long time reader, first time poster!
I'm looking to get hold of an old analogue oscilloscope here in Australia. I live on the sunshine coast (QLD). Currently in my first year of my electronic/electrical engineering degree and have started building a home lab for my own projects. I've been an automotive technician for 15 years so I know how to use an oscilloscope as I use one most days for work (mostly Picoscope).
I'd like something relatively cheap but working, just to play around with as i will be purchasing a new Rigol digital oscilloscope next year as my primary. Like in Dave's $50 eBay video, 2 channel, 20MHz or around that. My main issue is that I've been looking for a little while now and all the old analogue oscilloscopes I've found have been WAY overpriced here in Australia. Don't know whether that's just a location thing or just that people think they're worth more here. I could buy one from the USA but the shipping is often twice the price of the scope and i'm unsure of limitations with regards to household voltage (120V/230V). So i end up paying $150-$200USD for a scope delivered which is around $200-300AUD. That's more than i'm willing to pay for such an old scope with limited real world usability in this day and age. I would like something for around $100, that may be way too cheap to get hold of one. But like Dave says, "some people give these away!".
So if anyone has an old scope that they don't want/need anymore, I'd be happy to give it a good home. I am willing to pay postage for an old scope that someones nice enough to give away if there are any. Id even be happy with a scope that doesn't work but might be easily fixed as this might prove to be a good little project for me. Thanks to everyone in advance for your time!
