Wanted: (EU) Used Digital oscilloscope and Power Supply
« on: August 28, 2019, 05:51:25 pm »
Hi there  :).

I would like to buy a used high-end Siglent / Agilent / Tectronix or Rigol digital oscilloscope as a student. Their price today ranges from $ 500-800. I don't have much money and other oscilloscope alternatives don't meet my quality requirements. I would like to ask you if someone would sell me one of these used oscilloscopes at a good price or advise me where to ask.
My oscilloscope requirements: 100-200 MHz, 2-4 channel, 1 GSa / s and sufficient memory. Price max 100-300 dollars. I'm from the EU.

As for Hantek, I decided it didn't meet my quality requirements. This is really only a low-end.

And also for a long time I am looking for good used adjustable power supply (preferably 2-3 inputs), if anyone had available, I would be very happy.

Thank you.

Have you heard beggars can't be choosers? Try an owon scope and some cheapo power supplies from eBay or AliExpress.

High end? Maybe put a zero (or 2) behind it.... that stuff is more in the 10k+ range.... ;)

Got a Rigol 2072A for sale...

I meant oscilloscopes that sell as new for $500-800 or less. Not oscilloscopes for $2000. By this I meant high-end. So sorry for that, I meant the middle or low class.

Try bazos.cz or bazos.sk - you are from the Czech Republic, there is the occasional awesome deal. Got my HP 3458A there ;-)

To improve your chances you really should re-locate this thread to the relevant board where members list items for sale and wanted equipment. A short and to the point title might also help to draw peoples attention, example: Wanted: (EU) Used Oscilloscope and Power Supply. To move this thread select the Move Topic icon located at the lower left of this page then from the drop down list choose Buy/Sell/Wanted

If you want a decent waveform at 100MHz-200MHz then you need at least 10G-20G/samples per second.
It takes about 50-100 samples to make a half decent waveform.

My requirements, which I wrote above, related to the parameter of the oscilloscope itself, not to the desired waveform.

I am pretty sure the OP was referring to a scope with 100 to 200 MHz bandwidth. 1 GSa/s is fine for that, even if shared between two channels. "200 MHz bandwidth" does, of course, not mean that it will show a 200 MHz square wave, with all its harmonic content, as square .

Please, stop spreading that nonsense. For a 200Mhz scope, 1Gs/s is sufficient, 2Gs/s is plenty. What school did you attend, art school? More Bob Ross, less 'connect-the-dots', please! That guy knew how to interpolate!

@ 300 you're not far from affording SDS1202X-E new !

Save a few more $ and get new gear until you're older, wiser and more experienced in electronics then you you'll have the skills take on fixing and maintaining the old boat anchors.

For this reason (lack of finance) I am trying to find an already used oscilloscope and I do not want to put so much on it. Because a 1-2 year old oscilloscope at a better price I think is not such a bad purchase, is it?

The problem with these cheaper oscilloscopes is that second hand units aren't that much cheaper than new ones due to their popularity. For an affordable bench supply try the post below.

Cheap oscilloscopes are rarely sold but kept around just in case...

This oscilloscope I could buy 3 days ago (used about 1-2 years) for the price of $ 318 and I missed the chance. The seller sold it to someone before I could buy it and now I regret it.

At that price I recommend to get the hantek. I spent 3 months looking because I was looking for the same thing as you in the same range and I wasted close to 100 hours on it. I ended up ordering the Hantek 4072C because of the FG and it can get hacked up to 250MHZ.

They sent me the MSO5202D instead by mistake which is much more expensive but lacks the FG which kind of sucks. They even offered to give me a small discount if I kept it instead of returning it. I figured I already saved over 150 Euros on their mistake and kept it and didn´t ask for the discount (Voltcraft sold this same scope for over 900 Euros relabeled). They also sent it from a UK warehouse instead of from China to save me the import tax in Germany.

Anyway I am very happy with the scope and the quality and Hantek builds a lot of the entry level scopes for other companies as well. (Voltcraft 4000 and 5000 Series are really the Hantek scopes sold at 3X the price)

If you really need to have a Rigol or whatever check the Amazon warehouse site. They sell New items with damaged packaging at huge discount. I recently saved 150Euros on a laptop that had the tiniest dent in the box.

I see you're from Germany. So how is it, please, with taxes and duties? When I order used goods from Amazon Warehouse, do I pay taxes and duties and how much? Where do they have the warehouses from which they ship these goods to EU? Thank you.
