Need a vector network analyzer
« on: September 26, 2011, 11:52:46 am »
Hi,

I'm looking for a used vector network analyzer that goes at least up to 3GHz or so. Preferably with 3 ports. With a LCD screen if possible (don't want to have a used up CRT).

And of course cheap :) (well, cheap for a VNA, so something around 5k$ ?)

Cheers,

    Sylvain

You don't say where you are so i'm going to assume you live at the south pole.

Sorry, i have no idea where to get one from at the south pole.

I live somewhere UPS delivers :) So as long as the source is where UPS collects, I'm good.
Because honestly I have doubt I'm gonna find one locally in belgium, so it'll take shipping anyway ...

You probably have as much chance in Belgium as anywhere.
If you can't find one in your home country, have a look at the UK,or France,or Germany.
After all, they are all countries with large technical establishments,& they do make a lot of gear surplus from time to time.

In that price range I'd probably look at a HP8714. If you get lucky you might find/armwrestle someone out of a HP8753D for 5K. Neither are LCD's or 3 ports however. If you could do with a scalar.. you might have a few more options.
