[WTB] Small Linear PSU
« on: March 24, 2015, 12:48:07 pm »
Hello,
I'm looking for a small linear Power Supply Unit (PSU) with a light weight.
I'm searching for some weeks ans can't find anything: Nearly all linear PSUs are big & heavy.

I don't need high power!
Price: ~500$ ±50% (NEW)

Must Have:
  • 1 channel
  • Volts: >=30V
  • Current: <1A (even 500mA would be ok)
  • Display for Voltage & Current
  • regulators for volts & current

PS: I know the fundamentals of swithing mode & linear supplies; so I know why linear supplies are much heavier. That's why I'm looking for a low power PSU.

Thank you very much!

How about an old HP device? The HP 6216A and 6216C are both 25V, 400ma with adjustable current and voltage. Or you could get the 6218A or 6218C for 50V, 200ma. Or you could get a HP 6234A or 6235A for a dual/triple supply (but neither has an adjustable current limit). All of these are very small and very inexpensive on Ebay.

That's a nice PCU but its 32cm (12.6") deep. A little bit too long.

The HP PSUs are wonderful things; I already got HP 6216A.
Now I'm looking for one for my work bench and it would be nice to find a current/modern model. Maybe Agilent ... er Keysight?
