BEWARE! This is spam and likely a scam to get your money and run.

I received messages on every single one of my posts in this subforum, which would be impossible(three completely different items).

Oh, shucks!
Just when I was getting my hopes up I'll find the Fluke 185 LCD replacement I was looking for...

Actually, just got a response email: $80 dolars including shipping, apparently...

Thought it was suspicious.

Contacted R.E. my industrial camera stuff.

They offered me two cameras that didn't meet my specs :<

Haven't received one but also haven't posted anything for sale here. Can anyone clarify if these were from the same forum username, if it is different usernames giving the same email address in the message, or if the email address just always ends in 071@gmail.com

I also got one today, in fact 2 because I replied to the first one and now I'm awaiting a reply to my last one where I listed the actual parts that was looking for. Seems like he/they read through the Buy/Sell/Want list and send the same message to everyone.

Another member did a google search for the username and came across this

so it would seem that he have a series of email addresses and looks like he has already been banned and he only registered? this morning (UK local time) according to the PM he sent me but doing a search of members no such username exists and yet if i click on the "view profile" icon on my PM, it shows that he joined Feb28th, @ 02:29:04 AM and was last active at 11:01:28 PM which I assume is UK local time for today because if I then click on his stats it shows the activity as being at 04:00 AM and total time on line of 1hr 27mins.

So just what gives here, are we hacked or what??

Yes I got one in reply to my wanted thread. And there was me thinking he was offering me some Avometers. I did think it was odd with only a very brief 'if you're still interesed' as he didn't mention what he had on offer.

Here is an update on my earlier message.

I sent this person a list of the Fluke items I needed and here is that list,

I require the following:-

Battery compartments made up of the following:-
16 x screws part number H6
4 x cover MP14
4 x spacer MP16
4 x O ring MP15
4 x box BT1
The above items make up the battery box and cover.

Switch Extension Piece
2 x extension MP17

I could also do with the following if you have these as well,
2 x MP1 Top case assembly with label stuck to it MP7
2 x S3 Rubber 4 button membrane
2 x MP10 Bottom case assembly (only if the top is yellow (MP1), I have the brown cases already)
2 x MP12 stand (only if the top is yellow (MP1), I have the brown stands already)

How many of these items can you help me with?

I get a message back stating

I have all the items, I can provide you with all and the are in excellent condition.

I ask if he can send me photos and let me know how much he wants for them.

I get a reply with nothing more then 3 photos and here they are below, no mention of the price or anything and those of you who know your Fluke meters will of course know that not a single part is correct and since when has a bolt been a screw??

Did anybody else take him at face value and ask for proof of the items he claimed to have?

Next thing you know, the person will send you an e-mail with a bank account and a SWIFT number for you to transfer the money so he can send you the goods...  :-\

I have received the same message from jksdds071@gmail.com about a Datron accessory 4922 (posted in buy, sell wanted). It was impossible to answer to his personnal message through EEVBLOG. Strange. Unfortunately I went further (price, shipping, picture...) and asked for a Paypal invoice ; by chance "I don't have  Paypal" but "You can pay with skrill or bitcoin or Amazon Giftcard". I stopped just before the crash...

Perhaps we need to change some rules here, this scammer only registered yesterday morning and was allowed with immediate effect to be able to post PM's to us, perhaps we need a qualifying period to prevent/deter any future would be scammers from attempting to make a quick buck at others expense?

Wow I didn't expect this to blow up, I guess he did go on a mass messaging spree.

I get a reply with nothing more then 3 photos and here they are below, no mention of the price or anything and those of you who know your Fluke meters will of course know that not a single part is correct and since when has a bolt been a screw??

They're all images from the internet. Reverse image search them and you'll find a bunch.

UPDATE:
I understand from the moderators that this should not happen again as they have taken steps to prevent this from happening again, I cannot say what they are for obvious reasons, but please if you spot anything out of the ordinary, continues to report them here or if its of a different nature, start a specific thread about it so that other members can add their experiences and then the moderators can see for themselves the scale of the problem, thank you.

My mistake:

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/buysellwanted/fs-(eu)-keysight-dso6104l-1ghz-lxi-scope-(used)/msg1435231/#msg1435231

I surely got a message with an IBAN and I sent the money out. I didn't double check too much but luckly it was the seller.  :phew:
