Rigol stockist/distributor in NZ
« on: June 09, 2013, 11:25:39 am »
There appears to be nothing in the wiki...

If anyone can suggest somewhere to approach for Rigol gear in NZ I'd really appreciate it.

Cheers,
Aaron.

http://www.emona.com.au/index.asp?ID=22

Emona seem to be in NZ as well.  For the last year or two they've got their Rigol pricing to match the US prices (and anything you'll find on ebay), and as they're a supplier to industry they're decent people to work with and you get a reliable warranty. I've bought both my recent rigol purchases through them, and because they've got a sales office in Perth I didn't have to pay for postage.

Thanks Harvs,

You are correct, they seem to be in NZ but it looks like their NZ website redirects to Australia which makes me worry about currency, GST and freight issues. I found them early on in my searching but neglected to follow up. I've sent them a quick email to clarify.

Thanks again mate.

I'm in Auckland, I bought my DS2072 from Emona's Oz website.  No Oz GST, but had to pay frieght (Oz$45?) and got stung for NZ GST at the border.  Also sat with customs for almost a month, Emona were quite unhelpful despite NZ Customs claiming they were wanting info from the sender.  Emona fobbed me off, told me to call NZ Post, except NZ Post weren't involved at all, Emona uses DX Mail (Freightways / NZ Couriers) for deliveries to NZ.

Good unit though!

www.mastec.co.nz mention rigol as one of their suppliers

But i suspect they will want a huge markup.
Greek letter 'Psi' (not Pounds per Square Inch)

I found Mastec on the web, and have had some correspondence with one of their reps; Taran Singh. Their website is an exercise in bad brochure-ware, but Taran appears to be keen to do business. I'd like to get hold of one of their printed catalogues actually because they seem to have quite a range of gear. This part of the industry doesn't appear to have really embraced the web yet.

At full retail, their price is competitive (after currency conversion), but you still have to add GST of course. That burns a bit. Such is the nature of a usage tax.

To be fair, Emona called me (I think the same day) when I sent them an email, but I missed the call and haven't gotten around to calling back. It's also hard to blame them for our own customs and excise retards.

I'll keep you posted...

Customs did nothing wrong.
