Wanted. Hakko 936 clone pcb
« on: July 19, 2015, 04:43:50 am »
Someone on here posted a picture of a unpopulated clone pcb they had, I can not find the post but I want to know where I can get a pcb from, anyone got any ideas. I do not want the naff clone pcb that carries the chinese copy parts with half or non standard hakko design parts.

I don't think it's a 936 clone but there is this thread:

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/chat/want-to-make-your-own-soldering-station-you-can!/

But I'll keep on searching.

Edit: there is an schematic of a 936 clone here:

So far the only pcb board I can find is the real one:

http://www.moutoulos.com/eShop.php?view=productPage&product=39&category=12

But I don't see anywhere on that site the price they ask for it or if it's available. but I know you can find the controller board

like this one:

There is this post:

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/blog/eevblog-596-world's-cheapest-soldering-station-yihua-936/msg708737/#msg708737

but no idea where he got the DIY clone kit.

Also on the previous page Dave linked the following schematic and board:

http://dalincom.ru/datasheet/HAKKO_936_schematic.pdf

Someone pointed out that the zener ZD2 might be backwards and the same error is in the moutoulos board. pictures of the actual Hakko board shows ZD2 backwards from the schematic and the board layout, even on the silkscreen

Here is the link to that remark, and the following reply agrees with the observation.
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/blog/eevblog-596-world's-cheapest-soldering-station-yihua-936/msg440700/#msg440700

Picture of the original Hakko board where you can see ZD2 is actually backwards from the schematic and the moutoulos silkscreen, also note the silkscreen on the Hakko board where the orientation is right on the silkscreen.

ZD2 is right between the IC (NEC* C324A, Lo-Pwr Quad OpAmp) and the 5K Pot.

No, the picture that was posted and I saw was a large one of the pcb in green. I usually bookmark them but for some reason I forgot to on this one.

No, it was definitely posted on the forum. It wasn't an outside picture source. Looks like I am going to have to build my uv box and set about making my own. Something I was hoping to avoid at present

Actually I have 2 stations, but neither are up to doing what I want, I suppose it is a reason to listen to Daves advice on chinese knock offs and not buying them.

I have several Yihua 936 clones, got them when I saw how cheap they were, Dave later did episode #596 on the same ones. At $11 USD each shipped (but more now) they do the job just fine. I do use genuine tips on them though and I cannot speak for other clones.  I've been soldering for quite some time now and practice or at least learning correctly when you start will make all the difference.
