FS (EU) - Agilent 34401A as new
« on: October 22, 2014, 02:55:10 pm »
Hi all,

I placed one 34401A in eBay, AS NEW condition:

http://www.ebay.es/itm/AGILENT-34401A-Multimeter-AS-NEW-/301359943500?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_186&hash=item462a73cf4c

If the winner tells me he comes from this forum, he gets a pair of original, UNUSED, agilent probes, those that came with the meter.

Thanks,
Roberto EB4EQA

I find it strange that you didn't include the probes, maybe it will pick up a higher price if the unit was complete.

Also in a "Like New" item I would expect to have it all, or at least disclaim it and tell to your compatriotas: "Incompleto, sin sondas"/"incomplete without probes"

Hi Roberto.

Where is "Barrio de la estación"?
It's a uncommon name for a town. I didn't hear about it before.

Un saludo.

There is a Barrio de la estación in Madrid. That´s the first thing that came to mind when I saw it.

Edit: But it seems it's in Huesca, 4 hours drive each way for you :)

Is shipping from Spain to EU countries really that expensive? I already thought I get shafted with the crazy fees here in Finland :-\
Comparison:

Finland->Spain 10 kg = 43 EUR
Germany->Spain 31.5 kg = 41 EUR

and those are so-called "economy international" prices too, heh.

I think that auction's shipping cost includes packaging and handling. Shipping itself is about 30-40€ for those type of packages from Spain to EU.

The 34401A weighs 3.6kg only!
Including original packaging and manuals, that's well below 10kg.

A DHL packet 10kg, 120x60x60 (cm) costs 20,99€ from GER to ESP.
Should include assurance.

Check again, if EU transportation from ESP to EU is really that expensive these days..

Hi,

I paid £32.29 for an 53181A from UK to Portugal by UPS.

If I ship here 4Kg on the normal courrier to:

Germany = €30.25
Finland = €37.75
France = €30.25
Italy = €30.25
U.K = €37.75

I am surprised it is already at 330 Euro and one day 6 hours to go.
May be the ebay prices go up again.

I've shipped many things and I know quite well how much I should charge for shipping the things I sell. Actually, accounting time and driving, I will very probably loose money by I did not want to ask more than that. Some of you will have a different view and a different experience. You are free to specify shipping cost for your items as you will. Anyone that thinks it is too high is free to pass along and not bid.

I don't know where "Barrio de la Estación" is. All I know is my address appears correctly in my eBay profile. I wonder where does that come from, I never chose that description in my eBay info.

The description is honest and you will get a very clear understanding of the state of the item by reading it and looking to the pictures. We could discuss forever about the probes, the "as new" description, the pictures, how cheap shipping is in another country, why I live here and why I don't drive a diesel car... Not so sure about the value of doing that though.

Have a nice week :)

To those that thought that asking 40eur was too much...I had to pay 50.02EUR this morning for shipping it to Germany.

And that does not include time and driving to the post office which would be subject to discussion, but in any case would only ADD to that cost.

Regards,

No worries! I for my part was genuinely curious about the shipping cost since they seem to go up and up.
Guess that's one thing that was nice in Germany. Prices are quite OK there compared to anywhere else it seems
and at least they include a sensible insurance unlike here in Finland. It makes me use Ebay a lot less than I used to.

We have a shipping service here in Germany from a company called Hermes and they ship by volume and NOT by weight. This is really good for heavy stuff and prices are very reasonable. They even offer shipping from Germany to other EU countries, also by volume, independent of weight and also for reasonable prices, all including insurance.

But ... I needed a heavy package shipped from the UK to Germany and guess what. Hermes is available for shipping from the UK to Germany but they go by weight and it was like 4 times as expensive, as shipping the same package from Germany to the UK.
Go figure .... some things do not make sense.

It looks like Roberto sold his Agilent 34401A well. Congratulations.
