While it should be about 30% of brand new price at low quantity, good luck to sell some obscure combination for this money. Good luck finding anyone wanting this exact combination who needs them more than for tinkering, and is ready to pay to some dude on the internet (company will unlikely to do so). In the past I bought brand new Maxon motors with original price about 3 times higher for less, exactly for this reason. Ended up removing planetary gearhead and essentially destroying it, since the first gear was welded on the motor shaft.

I had comparable transactions and my remark was intended to be cynical & sceptical.

Damn, drive torque on these is close but not quite to spec for some CAS blocks I was thinking of designing. Wish they had the encoders instead of just Hall phasing.

Too optimistic. Wraper is right. Industrial stuff like this comes in so many configs it'll be once in a blue moon that you land on someone who needs exactly what you have. Business customers who care about the config don't care about saving 50% on a few motors, esp. if they're used. Hobbyists are mostly happy with bottom-tier trash motors that were swept up from a factory floor for $2/ea.

I think $50-75 per is a more reasonable starting point. Also really depends on how used they are.

Lots of stuff on aliexpress with encoders:

They are used obviously, and Chinese understand that it's better to let them go cheap rather than sitting on pile of them.

Yeah that's probably counterfeit Faulhaber on AliExpress... With China purchases, electronics (and most everything else) it's a roll of the dice on whether you're actually going to get a legit product or a cheap Chinese copy. And I'd say the dice are loaded to the cheap copy side. I know several people who have gotten burned by the counterfeits with no recourse.

I don't think those are fake - but certainly used.

Its called surplus stock or recovery from e-waste. You could not make money manufacturing a counterfeit for that price that looks that good.

Hell you can even see the mechanisms they came from: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33024246243.html  :palm:
