FS: [GER/EU] Grundig DM50 Digital Multimeter
« on: March 24, 2015, 03:12:00 pm »
For Sale: Grundig DM50 Digital Multimeter

Since my interests have shifted in the last years I'm trying to sell most of my old test gear. This means that the device wasn't used at all in the last years but it was stored in a dry and warm place.

I performed a short function check and it shows plausible results when measureing Voltage, Current and Resistance. The results can be seen in the pictures attached.

Is measured an old 50 Ohms Network-Terminator (which my other meters also show as 47 Ohms), an 1.024V Voltage-Reference and an old HP Power Supply set to a short circuit current of approx. 100mA

The Meter offers 4,5 Digits or respectively 50000 Counts. It has the following Functions / Ranges:

Voltage  (DC):  0.5V, 5V , 50V , 500V , 5000V (1000V max.)
Voltage  (AC):  0.5V ,5V , 50V , 500V , 5000V ( 750V max.)
Current  (DC):  500 µA , 5mA , 50 mA , 500 mA , 5A (last one is unfused)
Current  (AC):  500 µA , 5mA , 50 mA , 500 mA , 5A (likely to be TRMS)
Resistance   :  500R , 5k , 50k , 500k , 5M , 50M
Misc.        :  Diode Measurement
Several Math-Functions like Relative-Mode and Power Measurement

Autoraning only for Voltage and Resistance.

Since i have no Datasheet for the Meter the specifications above are without warranty.

It seems to measure AC as TRMS since it is equipped with a AD536 TRMS-to-DC converter with "450 kHz  bandwidth: V rms > 100 mV" (acc. to the datasheet of the AD536). It looks like it was quite expensive at the time, there are several reed relays for range switching, OPs from BurrBrown, an Intersil ICL7650B Chopper-Amp, several Intersil DG211CJ analog switches (also for range switching) and also several hybrids (apparently resistors for the voltage ranges). I could even find a teflon stud for low leakage currents in the input section.

I'll sell the meter for 75€ + Shipping. If you think the price is too high: send me an offer.

I would be in need of a meter and have been hunting for one for some time, can i have a day to think about it? The 75€ is a bit high but i do not want to insult you with the number i had alloted for one in my budget :)

Sure, take your time. If you think that 75€ is too much for the instrument or too much for you to afford then just send me an offer. I won't bite, promised  ;)
