Where were you a couple of weeks ago, when I bought a second MX500P?
I don't suppose you have a DS-1 (desoldering gun) stand?  They are the same base as the standard iron stand with a different 'holder module'.

BTW there are different versions of the RM3E stands, old/new style, with/without tip holder, with/without power save magnets, Green (Lead free) etc.  If you have one with a tip holder, I'll take it off your hands.  I am also looking out of the Metcal Air Compressor, but only if the price is right.

Bargain for a soldering station in this league. Couple it with a Hakko FX-1001 pencil if you can't find a cheap Metcal or Thermaltronics handset.

I've had lots of messages about the MX500P and stands and these are now provisionally sold.

I still have one STSS-PS2E available.

I received the MX500P and one stand. They were very well packed.

The stand is for MX Talon Tweezer. NOT for RM3E.
This is better for me since I missed a stand for my tweezers
It's easier to find stands for the RM3E.

Doh, that explains where my tweezer stand has gone to, no idea why I packed the wrong one. I'll send you an RM3E stand as I've just found a few more.

Thank you very much, the station arrived safely packed and without problems. From the pictures that I found online, I couldn't have predicted the size. My wife's comment was "Oh boy" It is a bit larger than the SP200 it will replace. What kind of tips do you guys recommend? I'm using a ssc-672 atm. (On the weller I had before and that we use at work I like the ~2-2.4 mm wide chisel tips as a reference.) For leaded soldering are the STTC-1xx ok or should one change to the 0-series?

The 1xx are fine for lead.

I use Thermaltronics tips, M7CB226 (STTC-199) 1.5mm bent chisel, M7CH175H (no direct equiv,  STTC-136 closest) 2.5mm 'power plus' chisel,  M7CH250 (STTC-117) 5mm chisel, and an M8SB275 (STTC-826) 0.4mm bent conical. Accidentally ordered the hot version, but it's actually paid off (makes very, very fast work of quick reflows, and it's good for burning off enamel).

That 5mm chisel laughs at ground planes.
