FREE Laird MTTC1410 Peltier Controller (Parts)
« on: July 09, 2024, 04:55:01 am »
I have a broken (but potentially easy fix) Laird Thermoelectric Temperature Controller, the MTTC1410. These go on ebay for about $300 new, and $60 before shipping for parts (see: https://www.ebay.com/itm/265399681085)(https://www.mouser.in/ProductDetail/Laird-Thermal-Systems/TC-AC-MTTC-1410). It boots up, and has  "Erro" on the screen.

I have taken it apart, and took a look at it. The output voltages on the back are ok. The mosfet voltages look good, and after looking at the input section of the external ADC, which only has a resistor as protection, I think the ADC needs to be replaced.  It was found in the trash of a local makerspace, in the woodworking shop. I suspect a voltage surge (from a motor), and a long wire going from the thermocouple to the ADC caused it to fail. I could be wrong, though. This is my guess.

If nothing else, you get a free PSU inside the case which for the cost of shipping is worth it. I'd feel guilty if I took it apart for the PSU, so I'm hoping someone will be able to repair / use this. Except for the ADC input, it looks well built.

You pay the cost of shipping. It ships from the US.
