FS: HP 6115A Precision Power Supply (US only)
« on: January 23, 2017, 01:34:40 am »
Please see my eBay listing here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Agilent-6115A-Precision-DC-Power-Supply-0-50V-0-8A-50-100V-0-4A-/172496139843?hash=item2829923643:g:zqkAAOSw2xRYg~gh

I put a lot of effort into repairing a few minor electrical issues, cleaning, and restoring the supply to good working order. It's been calibrated and run through a 24 hour burn-in. See the listing text and photos for more details.

Nice job. I like the old paddle switch and square power indicator on the early models. A Magic Sponge (melamine sponge) may help with removing that "54" on the heat sink.

All the best on the auction.

Thanks! I tried the magic sponge, and it worked quite well. You can still see a very faint trace of marker in a couple of spots, but it's 90% gone. If you didn't know it was there, you'd probably never notice it.  it's on the back of the unit out of sight anyway, but nice to get it one notch closer to it's original condition.

Great! Yeah, better to be just some faint spots than whole digits. :-+

Just updated my "returns" policy on eBay to standard 14-day return. I didn't realize it was set to no returns. (In case anyone was put off by this).

Last day for this auction.

While the 6114A are plentiful, good working 6115A are hard to find at a reasonable price. Check the other listings and you'll see sellers are asking north of $350 for units in similar shape.

Yes, I'm quite happy just to have the space back on my bench, to be honest. I enjoy repairing them, but not so much dealing with all the eBay headaches.
