FS: Agilent-branded U1733C LCR Meters
« on: February 16, 2016, 12:57:35 am »
I've just gotten in five more of the Agilent-branded U1733C LCR meters. These are new out-of-box with the basic clip leads; WYGIWYS. Liquidated because of the old Agilent branding. I verify each meter with several precision L/C/R components against readings from my own U1733C and DE-5000 meters.

I've sold more than 30 of these and everyone is... :-DMM :-DMM :-DMM.

Shipped to USA destinations via USPS Priority Mail they are $225 each. Shipment to international destinations via "Priority Mail International Padded Flat Rate Envelope" (in extra bubble wrap) they should be between $250-260 each. (I haven't shipped internationally yet.) Payment via PayPal or ACH. I'm not set up take credit cards directly.

Update 16-Feb: I've found some small boxes that fit into the flat rate padded envelope, and picked up some of the flat rate envelopes from the post office. Rates vary a couple of dollars depending upon a country's price group, but for simplicity let's call it $245 total for shipment to Canada, and $255 total for shipment to other countries.

Update1 16-March I've got eight more of the U1733C meters available, and I have two of the U5481A IR to USB cables which are new in factory packaging. I'd gotten in several of the SMT tweezers plus a pile of the IR interfaces but immediately sold out locally. Even sold out the first batch of 1733s by the next day. :o

Update2 16-March I've also got six of the U1732C 10kHz LCR meters; $135 each including shipment to USA, or $165 to international destinations via "Priority Mail International Padded Flat Rate Envelope."

All I had are sold or reserved. I've requested more, and should ("probably will") get more in about two weeks. Will advise here then.

First batch is shipping out momentarily... :-DMM

Received - thank you!

I'd update the firmware but I've seen many reports of bricking the meter and it seems the problem was so bad Keysight removed all records of the firmware update tool, lol.

FWIW, when I first checked about a year ago, the firmware in the meters (I had at that time) was the same as the current rev on the site. As best I can tell, they were all manufactured and calibrated in mid/late 2013, in Malaysia.

Arrived alive and well, as accurate as I would expect!  ^-^

Ended up at $325 after VAT and import fee, retail price here is $650, so half price!

Mine seems to be stuck at Heathrow - has been since 19th. Not finding it easy to find out what is going on with it. USPS seem to not really want me to call them as the website has me jumping through hoops to find a number. I just gave up and decided to wait a while longer.

Stuck at Heathrow... I know what that poor meter must feel like. ;D

Any way to hassle customs or Royal Mail there?

Quick testing with my decade capacitance box (claims 1% +- 8 pF):

100 pF = 99.35
200 pF = 199.32
300 pF = 300.00
400 pF = 399.2
500 pF = 499.2
600 pF = 601.1
700 pF = 701.0
800 pF = 801.9
900 pF = 901.0
1000 pF = 1001.1
1100 pF = 1100.5

The values tell you how the caps are wired (100 pF, 2x200 pF and 500 pF put in parallel to give those values).

I threw an IR to USB interface together that works fine with terminal programs but not the official Agilent software as they use a prolific 2303 and I'm using an ftdi. There is a list of commands that work posted on the official Keysight forum if you need them.

edit - switched to a prolific USB to TTL converter and it now works fine with the Agilent logging software.

These are the U5481A USB to IR interface cables for the LCR meters; photo attached.

Update: Including a price would have been a good idea... |O  These are $25 plus whatever actual postage ends up being. (Out of package they can ship First Class Parcel in a bubble envelope for very little postage.)
