SOLD (UK) Tenma 72-10495 PSUs 2 channel 0-30V 0-5A
« on: August 25, 2019, 05:37:44 pm »
Need to get rid of these, I keep falling over them.

819561-0

They are all customer returns but I've made 36 good ones out of a big pile of them. Typical faults were LED display segments out, binding posts snapped off, cases dented by mains leads, some electronic faults. No scratches or dents (bottom of some cases may be a bit deformed due to the huge weight of the transformers and the shoddy way they are mounted), all very clean and no/little use, tested with an electronic load in single, series and parallel modes. Include original packaging but NO MAINS LEAD to avoid more shipping to damage.

2 x 0-30V 5A

List price at CPC is £133 each including VAT, get them from me at the cheapest price you'll ever see £55 each.
Add £10 for shipping UK, £20 sensible euro countries but to be honest shipping these outside the UK is daft unless you buy 2.

Shipping cost is for up to 2 units (they're HEAVY), any more than that then you need to pay more shipping!

ALL SOLD

Would love to Ian, but you know just how much you would have to charge for shipping out to the far side of the planet.

Hey, another absolute bargain from you. These supplies aren't great at regulation compared to "proper" bench supplies, but if you're trying to drive something at 30V and 5A then good regulation is something your DUT needs to do itself anyway!

I'm fighting the urge to buy two, I'll sleep on it and hopefully they're all gone by the morning to save me the expense!

Why some of them with binding posts, and some of them for insulated banana?

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Tenma. No reason at all.

I think binding posts aren’t allowed in some areas due to bare copper being accessible when the post is unscrewed. 60V is just a bit too much in that regard.

After repairing a LOT of these I think the real reason is that a high percentage of the binding posts got snapped off in transit. This can’t happen with the insulated banana jacks. It does seem that only later models have the banana jacks.

Binding posts are kinda fragile. That plus, as mentioned, at 60V across the terminals somebody has to think of the children. Can't let them learn non-fatal lessons, they must not suffer. Instant death or useless life.

Down to the last 7 of these now, 3 with binding posts and 4 with recessed jacks.

In my childhood I used to put my fingers into mains socket... Like, touching contacts of a partially plugged electric plug. Got a few shocks, but nothing serious (probably because I used only one hand).
