I always wanted a GPS time receiver, it looks like this one is ok and the price is reasonable:

The shipping cost to Germany is 120$, with DHL. My unit will be shipped soon.

PS: I have a rubidium 10MHz disciplined in one of my box under my bench, should I replace the OCXO inside the Z3805A? mah...

Didn´t ask. Since I would like to get my hands on it soon DHL was just fine. Snail mail was out of discussion.

After reading a bit more, I found that they don't ship with anything else than DHL.. oh well..

This really seems a reasonable price.
But how much is a fitting GPS Antenna, if you know.

It looks like it will cost between 20€ and 30€.

Just an update:

180$ Device price
120$ Shipping Cost to Germany with DHL
45,21€ DHL custom costs

and now I have it in my hands...

I have tried to purchase from this company and always gave up when they quoted the shipping cost. They refuse to use anyone but DHL (which is their right) but when the shipping cost is twice as much as the items value and four times the cost of normal airmail, you have to consider the total you are paying, and in my case it was just not worth it.

This looks a nice buy however. $120 for shipping is cheap from these people. It must be la light parcel

I hope the unit performs well for you. They are certainly very nice.

It is all about the total cost of ownership......this unit is a very good price, so the additional cost of shipping is offset. You did well. I am very tempted but I already have a couple of Thunderbolt GPSDO's and a couple of Quartzlock 2A Off-Air (198kHz) standards in the lab so it is hard for me to justify.

That hasn't stopped me before though

Yes it is here (see also posts above), it is in one of the box on the third shelf

BTW, that third one is the TODO/running project storage.

Point is I am finishing to set up my new bench, now it is time to put the oil free air compressor in business.

I'd like to know what the actual power consumption is, both starting up and GPS locked, please. Does it have a fan? If so, how loud is it?

To me at starting up the power will go to heat up the OXCO... just check the data sheet of the OXCO and you will get a nice overview (I hope).

Of course if you need a precise measure during start up that´s a different story.
