FS: Brand new Rigol MSO2072A +300Mhz and all options (US)

I purchased a MSO2072A and then scored a deal on a used one while this was in shipping. It's the same as a DS2072A with an additional 16 digital channel logic analyzer.

Box was opened to verify contents and to perform the upgrade. All options and 300Mhz bandwidth have been unlocked.

Asking 10% off the retail price of $1239. Will provide proof of purchase (little over a month ago) and warranty.

I don't follow. That link shows $1239 for the MSO2072A. I'm selling it for $1200 w/ the 300Mhz and all options already unlocked including free shipping.

history showed that anything you buy new and sell immediately must have a 30% or more discount on it if you want to sell.
also almost any viewer of this eevblog forum will find how to unlock the scope. so this 300MHz hacking is just not an advantage.
sell it around $1000 and you will have buyers. otherwise be patient. just my 2cts.

You can reverse the hack and return it to the shop where you purchased it paying the restocking fee saying that you don't need it, which is true.  I am not sure if Rigol honors warranty transfers, so you might be selling a scope that will not be covered by Rigol (check with Rigol).  You have better chance of selling it if you restore it to the original state, verify with Rigol that it will have the original warranty and price it 15% to 30% less.  Black Friday is coming and Rigol US offers excellent deals on new equipment (usually 30% to 40% discount).

DontAssociate, assuming you applied the upgrades by using the free resources on the web and not by purchasing them from Rigol, I would be very careful with this practice. As others have hinted, as a general statement people are very intolerant of folks that earn extra profit out of something absolutely free and will be very vocal about it. 

Obviously that, if you purchased the options from Rigol and is selling the whole thing at a discounted price, all is well.

Thanks for all the comments. I am not trying to earn any extra profit on this. I put it at a price that was less than I paid. The price was merely that, an asking price. I'm not familiar with the pricing practices of this board and if someone wanted to offer less I would consider it. So my apologies.

You offered a used scope for $39 dollars off the retail price of a new scope on a site which even gives discounts to members of this forum.  You haven't even bothered to post in the New Members section, so you probably have no plans to actually stay and join this community. So at best you are just trying to scum your way to breaking even on a poor decision on your part. At worst you are attempting to take advantage of ignorant members of this community by offloading your used junk.

If you merely want to get your money back, you would return the gear to the retailer, not pawn it off on us.

Leaving aside the controversies, I just want to say this is a great scope, fast to boot and use, lots of memory, catches signal glitches easily. The one I use the most out of the many digital scopes I have

No one has any guarantee that he isn't the Antichrist and isn't actively trying to eat your first born child either, but that runs about as likely as him trying to screw you over by pulling a bait and switch after he volunteered the information about him having gotten a better deal than on the original.  You are under no obligation to buy it at that price, and after seeing other people's suggestions in this thread he may be willing to entertain a lower offer. Accusing him of trying to rip you off is not necessary. Just make a counter offer and leave it at that.

You'll need to make a better offer than 3% discount from retail price. EEVblog members have 2x higher discount from Tequipment. Without any risk of fraud or warranty. And with unopened box.

I'm truly sorry you feel that way. You're right though. I did make a poor decision purchasing this before fully doing my research. I saw a used DS2072A with a chinese logic analyzer on ebay for a much better price only a few days after purchasing. I thought selling the one I just bought would be worth it. Unfortunately I don't think there is anything I can say to change your mind.

I don't really see why people jump on threads like this. It's a free market, a person is entitled to ask any price they want for stuff they are selling. If the price is too high people can make an offer, if an agreement can't be reached then the item doesn't sell, no big deal. If you're not interested in buying just move on, no need to rag on the person selling.
