From my last dealings with this stuff, ARROW invoice you $0.00 for the Raspberry PI, but then list full price on customs invoices that you didn't pay and you end up paying far more in taxes + especially ludicrous "handling fees" from the likes of FedEx scum.

Don't even bother. (Especially in Germany! Have you seen how much shit Dave gets trying to sell his stuff to Germany?)

Does Arrow sells to persons, or is for business only?

Since when do they ship DDP? They used to ship FOB and in various occasions I had to pay huge custom fees.

Do you have to pay extra for DDP terms?

There is no extra fee for DDP , just pay VAT accoring to your country.

They do have DDP, now, just read about it moments ago on their delivery/shipping policy.

For me, the downer was that all products I wanted were shipping from the US warehouse, and I live in EU/Romania.

I asked, and if the shopping cart shows "Shipping from US", then there is no way to change it into "Shipping from NL". They told me there is another warehouse in NL, for EU customers, but if the basket shows US, then the product is not available from NL warehouse.

That is great news. With DDP Arrow will pay for the custom handling fees and deal with them if something is wrong. Finally no more scans of credit cards statements. That is more than enough for me!

i just happened to put a parts order yesterday night, seen the Pi offer and ordered one. Should have delivery in a couple days, then will see what they put on the customs invoice. I can hardly imagine they can declare any higher amounts than was paid at checkout.

Thanks for the heads up on this, pulled the trigger on a $50 Altera EK-10M08E144 FPGA dev board with arduino interface that I have been eyeing for a while now.  Got the free Pi 3B+ to boot!  Great deal.

Got the free Pi 3B+ to boot!  Great deal.
I was not able to get a free RPi B PLUS. The only free offer for me was the old model, RPi 3B (not 3B+).

Their add sais you can get either one for free, but the code 50PI didn't worked if in the basket was a B+ version.
Did you got a free RPi 3 B, or RPi 3 B+?

LATER EDIT:
Now, the free 3B Plus is working for my order, too!
Thanks for mentioning your free 3B+, it made me check again.

Well, thanks for the heads up :)
My PoE-Supply project was on the back burner for a while, now I took this opportunity to finally order a whole bunch of parts, copying an LT reference design.
One can never have enough Raspberries  :)

I am curious how DDP shipment works out, and how it will work once the EU starts applying toll penalties to US goods...

It'll keep working, Arrow will just get charged more, and move that cost on to you.

There's already duties on imports, they're just in the single-digit % range.

Reminds me why I don't use Arrow:
:palm: They can't figure out how to sort anything other than by alphabetical order
:palm: No easy way to hide items with a minimum of 1000pc order
:palm: Contents of shopping card disappeared and support said it cant be recovered (it could, tried logging in and out a few times)
:palm: Tiny low res images for parts
:palm: No way to pay duties/taxes up front

Those are minor issues compare to 2x price of that expensive AD chip at Digikey.

Well I finally placed an order. Arrow really isn't setup for browsing stuff... Was very heavy going trying to decide what to buy.

I'm pretty sure I'm getting a handful of sma connector protectors for my growing collection of various sma connected RF test equipment (hard to tell though, because part description is pretty lacking)

And I'm getting the Google RPI "home assistant" kit.

Not bad, with a free rpi3b+ and free shipping.

Few things are cheap, Few things costs more.

if somebody is intrested in DDP,I got my DDP order into Germany, without any problem.

You are lucky... did your DDP order include a "free" Raspberry?

My order is stuck in customs at the moment. Now I am caught in the grindstones of german bureaucracy  |O
To get an EORI Number, I can fill out an online form. So far so good...
After filling that out though, I have to print the form, sign it, and then fax it back...
Then fill out and fax a customs form for DHL.

In the meantime it might be (I do not know the final cost yet) that for each day that the package is stuck in customs a 5 euro storage fee accrues.

I'm afraid that this will be an expensive Raspberry Pi  ;D

Arrow's part search system is actually so fucking bad, it's mind boggling. But I can't resist 10% off and no minimum free overnight shipping by FedEx. I'm basically building my parts lists in Digikey, then pasting part numbers into Arrow's search system... |O

And the horror of their packaging! Each individual part number is double bagged with a separate invoice. They send me a single DIP-8 part in a TWO FOOT LONG tube!

i think , if you have EORI number you should provide to shipper before shipping but if you don't have EORI then when they ask you EORI tell then you are individual , you just have to send an email telling you are not a company.
I think Customs can charge you only after 10days not from day one. Good luck .

That is really the smart way to do it.
I thought digikeys component packaging was overkill until seeing everyone elses. But we aren't exactly the target market.

Arrow's systems are just weird.

I ordered twice from them. First order claimed to be 1 shipment but it turned up as 4 boxes each containing 1-2 different components. I got the 2 foot long IC tube as well but it was in a 3 foot long box by itself. Second order said 2 shipments with the second still pending shipping but I've already received both. The second shipment they didn't even tell me about. It just appeared today with no warning.

I've no idea how their sort option works on their website either. Sort by ascending price and it seems to mostly get it right but will have a handful of components in the wrong order.

A lot of their items are discounted in some way, but they are sorted by the non-discounted price  :--
