WTB: Couple small value polystyrene caps
« on: November 14, 2013, 05:29:06 pm »
All,

Needing to buy 2 68pf 500v (or 630V) polystyrene axial caps. Everywhere I can find online has a "huge" minimum order for something that only costs a couple bucks. I'd even be interested in also getting some 680pf's of the same, but again, no where near the $20 or whatever the minimum order is. :(

I'd just use silver mica, but given Keithley chose to put polystyrene in the unit, when there are other silver mica caps, I'd have to imagine there was a reason.

Anyone got any laying around they'd be willing to just drop in a padded envelope? I'm going to keep looking, but it's not looking promising. :/ Guess if you also know a seller that would work, please post. :)

Polystyrene seems to have nearly gone the way of the dodo. Polypropylene is similar, though - how about this one? I can't find one at 500V or 630V, only 400V and 2kV.

Wow, that seems perfect. I'll have to order that and just be done. =)

So, well done! I bought that 68pF 2000v polypropylene cap and it fit PERFECTLY! I was a bit worried when I saw how short the leads were, but they fit the spacing perfectly.

Thanks so much!

Many of them are available in a version with cut leads and a version with long leads - next time just check for the long version!

Glad it worked out. :-+
