Has someone bought some recently and has a link handy? You could save me 2 hours research.

I have used these.   They are pricey but good quality.

Do you mean shielded, such as Banana to Male BNC (example)?

Or do you mean shrouded test sockets/panel sockets, such as those found on a DMM (example)?

Excellent! Ordered.

Thank you very much kg4arn

I meant "Panel Mt IEC1010 4mm (0.16in) jack for sheathed banana plugs" (according to the pomona data sheet,) but I didn't know that when I first posted.

As an aside, and at risk of hijacking my own thread, does anyone know what tool those retaining nuts do up with? Doesn't matter in my case, but curious.

Hi,

There are some on eBay. They are much cheaper than the Pomona ones, I am not sure about the quality. I have not bought any myself.

ahhh, apparently i missed the word "sockets" in the title. ive been looking for shielded male ends, like would be found on the inboard ends of a set of test leads.

they are called shrouded, not shielded, shielded implies some shielding, but this is not..

The tool to tighten them would be a pin driver. Not exactly a common tool. If you are going to be doing up 100 plus I would just make one out of some steel tube using a file and mount it on a sacrificial hex socket.

two of the links above had them for sale:

http://www.caltestelectronics.com/ctitem/161-safety/CT2246A

but yeah, for that price, id just make something.

to continue my tangent/hijack, i did find exactly what i was looking for in the links:
