I am only looking for 1 pc.  It is a part from a HP 8920B.

If someone has one or knows a place that I might be able to source one it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Sean

I don't have any spare 8920b parts at the moment but am looking for a dump of the 8 flash chips with the firmware. Any chance you can help?

I am kind of a Newbie when it comes to Test Equipment but I do have access to old board level Electronic Components.

Do you have a p/n for what your looking for??

The firmware I need is held in 8 socketed PLCC 32 flash chips on the A8 PCMCIA/Memory board. I also need to know what type of flash parts they are. I am guess AM29F040 but don't know for certain. The part # of the board I have is 08920-60194 / 194-3501.

Again, I may be out of my league technically speaking on this but I can get that particular chip non flashed and I do see pulls on the market that might have the firmware on it.  Also, used boards are available as well and they may have the correct firmware.  This is guessing that you are correct that AM29F040 is the correct P/N.

On a side note, there are different variations of the AM29F040 that I see as well.  FYI- AM29F040-xxx    -120   -120EC    -70  ....etc.

Did some checking tonight, the upper two address lines aren't used so the flash parts are likely 29F010. I've ordered some and a PCMCIA card with a firmware update on it. Good luck on your search for your input atten. If my project doesn't work out maybe I'll sell the one that is in my 8920B.
