CPC discounting U1241C and U1242C in their sale
« on: January 04, 2019, 02:09:13 pm »
I'm not particularly recommending the U1241C but if you're in the UK and in the market for one CPC are selling it at a good discount in their sale:
https://cpc.farnell.com/keysight-technologies/u1241c/true-rms-10000-count-handheld/dp/IN0751069
they're also discounting the u1242c but the discount is less.

Here is a thread on this forum where the U1241C doesn't do brilliantly well but is ok:

Paid a lot more than that for mine! It's a pretty good and decent quality DMM for the money. At 1/3 the retail price of an 87V you can't complain even if it's not perfect.

Was this the one with the suboptimal hold function? I'm looking for a meter with a decent hold function for someone else.

Yes that's the one. The hold isn't good at all. Even after frigging with the counts in the menus it was rather cranky. 87V is top notch out of the box which is why when I got my hands on one the U1241C went.

I bought the U1241C originally because I was being too cheap to buy an 87V. Ended up paying £130 for the 87V in the end.

The hold function on the 87V is as you say top notch, but I'm not going to gift someone one of those. Unless I can make a similar deal of course, but I doubt that's going to happen. Even then I may very well keep it as a spare. ;D

If I see one again at that price I'm going to keep it as a spare as well!

Ordered one this morning. At that price it seemed rude not to!

Thanks for the heads up.

I'm surprised the stock lasted as long as it did - there was only a few when I first posted (CPC sent me a spam sales email and for some reason I was bored enough to read it).
