Heh, interesting to see nobody's really fussed about this here. Guess it's the home front
I was pretty pissed to see this video to be honest. I don't care if this video were just 'on youtube', but I really, really didn't expect this on dave's channel. It was a horrible quality video, extremely unfunny and basically just a big waste of time and components. Really, why would you upload something so far beneath your otherwise pretty decent level of quality? So IMO it was pretty deserved to get the dislikes it got. Also, pretty terrible PR for Agilent.
I didn't see the video. I don't know who made the video. I don't know why Dave felt obligated to take it down, after the person who made the video got scared. They made the video, now face the consequences, if there even are any consequences for destroying your own stuff.
Jeezus, if I had an Asus laptop and an Acer laptop, and Asus ran over Acer, why would I care about the consequences or the bad PR if I bought and paid for them both. Extend that to Android vs. Apple, or Agilent vs Tektronix.
As for the comment about being bad PR for Agilent , if the person WORKS for Agilent, well they deserve what they get if they do something in poor taste with their company brand. If they are independent, why should they, or even YOU, care about PR ?
There are way too many "fanboys" in the world. It's all just plastic, metal and silicon.
If you get emotionally wounded over test equipment getting destroyed, then I think it's time to hit the Prozac.
agreed.
Perhaps I am tainted, but I worked in Silicon Valley, at a test equipment manufacturer. I regularly saw equipment being destroyed as part of inventory write-off. Literally piles of test equipment getting run over, shredded or crushed. This stuff doesn't faze me now.
