No, I have not seen a working live camera at the EEV Blog for months.

Hello.

Strange... The labcam via DropCam worked very well.
Since the change to ConnectCast three weeks ago it failed.
Update:
Since 15 Minutes (01.00 MEZ) I´m receiving a live-pic on the EEVblog-page.
Perhaps you can get the livestream direct from http://connectcast.tv/eevblog

Greetings,

Hartmut

There are issues with it but it generally works.
It is not on 24/7 like the old one, 8am to 8pm Sydney time only. It gets powered down outside those times.

Any thoughts on fixing the stop action?  It's a little annoying, and makes it difficult for me to lipread what you're saying to Dave2.

But, what´s now going on???

It never worked on my Linux system but did on windows. But, the same could be said for Dropcam.

Then it must something wrong with your system. Dropcam has worked everytime on OpenSuse 64 bit.  Its shockwave-flash
With the new one, go with your mouse in the left down corner (popup), there are other Cams listed. ALL of them are working here, but not Daves.
Windows I don't have, can't check.

Personally i have failed to see even one stream from new cam. They do allow streaming outside Australia?

All i ever see is this: Only partners are allowed to use embed feature. Click here to learn more about our partnership program.

Thanks to doing regular rotation of night-evening-morning at work its easy trying to catch lab spy cam ;)

Three hours later...

It is now 2:28 pm in Sydney. Still the same on the website.            :=\
The livecam is offline. Perhaps someone has unplugged the timer?   :-//

There might still be an issues with the power supply used. Reports are powering a webcam through the USB port on the Rpi is not a good idea, it needs an external powered hub.

Why do you have the camera on a timer? Is it to save power, or bandwidth?

Bandwidth.

If the later then maybe you could stop and start the camera feed only via some scheduled start/stop commands on the RPi.

Why bother when you can save power too and also have it cold reboot daily to ensure reliability?

Then best thing would be properly shut (with shutdown command) it down to minimize risk of garbage ending up in memory card. Since raspi keeps some files open in there while running..
