How can I travel or work abroad like Dave mentioned in one of his blog?

Okay hi guys, you fellas are a great bunch of people and once again thanks Dave for the great videos, even thoe Im just a regular guy 25 years old and have no electronics pedegree or experience apart from the start of 2010 I enjoy learning and watching blogs, and other stuff related. I know Daves vids are intended to electronic engineers and are not targeted to laymen like myself but in one episode of Daves vids he is cruising to work and he talks about working abroad and he says go and do it, this sparked an idea in my head and wondering if the EEVBlog gang could throw some ideas at me how could I do something like this, sure it dosent have to be related to electronics not that it would anyway seeing as I dont have any experience in electronic engineering apart from the usual testing components and soldering stuff on boards. But im currently in the UK, and want to pack up and move somewhere to work and gain some experience but my mind is not that good with thinking outside of the box. I dont have a lot of money but mabie this could be a goal in some years? Have a great weekend everyone

The arguably easiest way to get to a foreign country for an extended period of time is as a graduate student. With some luck you might even get a little stipend (aka. research assistantship) that covers tuition and some (or most, depending on your standard of living) of your living expenses.

unless your going as a student (most countries are not as stupid as the UK about letting all in sundry live of them) i take it you are very good at washing up in restaurants 

seriously easterntigers when will you actually "grow up" ? All your posts so far have been either "how do I get way beyond my current abilities and into this top notch job" - "like yesterday" or "how can I do exactly as so and so said" or "how can I have a carrer just like you".

Maybe it is time that you got some breadboards (told your robot builder friend to stop giving you advice), a few parts and started to actually do something instead of plaguing this forum with childish aspirations and thinking that we can feed the wisdon of the world and the electronics world into you brain in stistilled form via this forum.

I'm no expert in electronics by no means but i take pleasure in learning by doing (and when I get my house i plan to get VERY active) and actually asking project related question when i get stuck on a project. On the whole I learn by designing and building projects that initially I thought I had a few things to learn about but find when I get into it that I know maybe half about, but by using forums such as this one get the help and insight i need to complete that other half. So I finish something knowing a thing or two more and so on.

Yep this was a stupid post, you gotta understand buddy Im like a small boy in the toy shop here, you know how kids are always asking questions how and why this works etc.. well im like that and you guys know more than me, my problem is simply is ive repaired some basic television and radios by soldering in some components and all off a sudden ive got a confidence boost, you gotta understand where im coming from, because I mastered the multimeter and how to use it I feel good inside and my imagination is running wild. as you said go back to basics with breadboarding and stuff absoultely, ive been speaking to the wrong people too. the robot designer guy and his website when I went on told me confilcting information. Im gonna time some time off this forum I rekon

Well, I guess your chances of picking up an electronics related job in another country are the same or less than in the UK. So until you have some experience under your belt, or maybe qualifications that let you apply for say graduate jobs, your chances of getting anything other than a production line worker job are limited I would guess.

But if you do want to travel and work, and you have say soldering skills, then it would be possible to get such a production worker job and pay your way around the world - maybe.

and hope you can speak Italian when you get a bunch of disatisfied Italian tourists that don't appreciate the fact that their plane needs to drop you off to fix another plane before getting them to their destination

No You made a great point, its just over here in the UK to do anything relating to avionics you usually have to take the route of going via army and I dont want to go down that road.

even steward has to go via army? i guess, thats something relating to italian passengers experience huh?

not really I'm sure the enemy is a lot more intelligent than your average Italian passenger
