Actually im an owner of Keysight U1273A (oled version),i haven't the possibilityto test it for EMC issue ,but i suppose by looking from others that this problem is here too.
Can i ask for the replacement of this unit for free ?
What i must to do ?
Sorry if i asking for that ,but this topic is too long  :horse:

I noticed one of these at the 2016 Electronica (Munchen) trade show. I do like the display but it didn't really strike me as being large, felt pretty similar to my U1273A at a glance.

Id like to know if the font looks any better. The Keysight has a weird one for the large numbers, especially for number 4 (But hey you get used to it)

My replacement U1282A just arrived by DHL Express.

Thank you so much, Keysight!
This really shows that there is some wonderful "HP-spirit" still inside the Keysight organization.
And most amazingly, it came with the USB Adapter as well.

Thanks again to Dave as well for making this possible !

Great, Keysight U1282A looks up for the task. Did you get any notice/tracking info (email or phone call) from DHL before actual delivery?

IIRC, IR-USB adapter is included by default with all U1280 series DMMs.

Mine was received by Keysight in NL on the 22nd of Dec, forwarded to me on the 23rd. Not heard anything since, and nothing happening on the reference number I was given. DHL Express, just not for me!

Still waiting in excitement though

My replacement arrived out of the blue. Didn't get any shipping notifications so was a nice surprise.

No, Just one mail that it would be on the way and then it showed up a few days later.
BTW, the U1282A works great.
It is bigger than the U1272A but that is totally acceptable for me.

Has anyone ran the test on a u1282a that they have just received.  See if the EMI problem does not surface.

I received another email from Keysight yesterday indicating they have sent a replacement meter even though I had already received it back on the 23-Dec-2016, this message came with a DHL tracking number so I went and checked where it was at, surprisingly the docket states the delivery was signed for which was not the case, I specifically asked the courier where do I sign and he said I didn't need to and just wandered off, this does not affect anything in my case but Keysight should be made aware should one go astray.

Thank you once again Keysight for your attention and generosity.   :-+

Received Email 30-Dec-2016
We are pleased to informed that we had sent you a U1280 handheld digital multimeter from factory. This multimeter includes an enhancement on DC current measurement at noisy environment, and we believe it will provide you a better measurement experience.

Hmm...  I never thought about whether my measurement experience could be better, perhaps more fulfilling?

I got mine. Was dispatched by DHL worldwide express on Dec. 23 but delivered by express post for some reason. Probably because there was no phone number on the package, seems they tried to deliver on Dec 28, but could not get in as door in the building is locked. So I got delivery notice by regular post on Dec. 29 in my mailbox (postman has a door key), called express post on Dec. 30, and they delivered it today.

Same here, mine seems to be in the void. One thing I know about DHL is that they are fast, and Keysight said they shipped it to me from NL 10 days ago!

Slightly annoying because I used my family's address where I'm staying for the holidays, but I'm flying back in a couple of days. Will it be delivered to the house even if I can't sign for it?

@TheAmmoniacal:
30 Minutes ago, I got an phone call from a friendly old lady that she got a wrong delivered package with my name & address on it.
She said that there are some strange orange things with wires inside ;)

It's on the other end of the town, so I'll have to wait till after work to get the package.
I think there will be some nice pics this afternoon.

So yes, they deliver to everyone.
Even to the wrong address.
When I need more then 10 seconds to open the door after the post man rang the bell, the package ends on my door step & the post man sign himselfe.

But the mail system in my country is extreme bad after several years of profit maximation from business economics.
We even have illiterates for mail sorting & delivering.
And yes, they are extreme hard to find in this normally well educated country.

99% of all packages delivered to private persons can be signed by anyone with the same last name (surename). 1% worst case they want some ID leave a paper copy of id at home, I always leave a copy of my id when I travel just in case.

Edit: usually for all signed stuff from postal office when you have to pick it up from them (no delivery to home) they ask for notary (lawyer) papers. Fixed misstypes

I've got the U1282A today.
Thank you very much Keysight.

I'll take some photos & make some tests later this week.

One thing is interesting.
A quick test shows, that the VSense mode of the U1282 detects my cheap workbench light (12V Led-strip) in ca. the same distance, my U1272A gets affected in current measure mode.
Is someone able to confirm that the VSense mode works as a kind of Warning mode for the U1272?

I have just received package with U1282A today. Thanks for service support, Keysight :-+

I did have much time to test it in more detail, quick performance checks showed it is similar or better than U1272A in accuracy.
One thing I noticed is that Keysight improved U1282A menu setup from older U1272A in various small ways that makes it much easier to use - hold button has left and right arrow function; if parameter is changed but not saved LCD blinks, etc. A bit cleaner setup and has more options, too.

I also received the new U1282A today.  As expected, there is also the USB cable included.

I made a quick test with the old U1273A and my cheap Chinese function generator.  In the Amps mode, U1282A doesn't have any anomalies with any frequency up to 25MHz.

Greetings EEVblog followers. As we’ve said in earlier posts, it has been a top priority at Keysight to resolve the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)-related issue with our U1270 series of handheld digital multimeters. Today we are pleased to announce that we have completed a redesign of U1270 multimeters ahead of schedule, and we are shipping replacement units free of charge to customers who requested them. The new U1270 products feature an improved filter design to attenuate external noise from radio frequency (RF) signals. If you own a U1270 multimeter and have not already requested a replacement, you can still do so through a special webform: https://www.keysight.com/main/editorial.jspx?cc=US&lc=eng&ckey=2806392&id=2806392. Thanks again to everyone who has been part of this discussion. You have helped us better understand the situation and its impact on U1270 users, allowing us to respond and improve our products. We are grateful to you and your inputs. Happy New Year!
