So what's all the fuss about ?
When Dave adds a new feature to the forum SW he normally announces it so we get a heads up and put any new features immediately to use.
Forum and Google searches failed to find any sort of introduction to this Move Topic feature so let's examine it.
I also PM'ed Simon and he knew nothing about it so I thought we should do some checks to see how functional it really was.
In EEVblog full site view (not on phones or tablets), the thread starter (OP) gets an arrow to the far right of the Last Post icon and it's
only visible in Board view.
EDITImportant: To be able to see it like below and easily access it you must edit your profile Look and Layout.
Profile/Look and Layout, last item on the page:
Show quick-moderation as, select
Icons.

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/what's-this-move-topic-icon-all-about/msg1446600/#msg1446600Like this for each and every thread I've started:
So what's it all about ?
Hover your mouse pointer over the arrow and Move Topic pops up !
Click on it and wow, a new forum feature.
It's been around for a few weeks.
Click on the drop-down arrow and more wows, you can shift your topic to the Board of your choice:
Great when you've inadvertently started a thread in the wrong board.
So a question; can everybody see this arrow for topics they've started ? A; Yes, if Profile settings are st correctly.
Newbies, Contributors, Regular Contributors and Supers ? A; Seems so
Have we all got equal access to the Move Topic feature ? A; Yes
Could 'Thanks' once given follow a moved thread ? A; Yes
So in some attempt to prove its functionality and worth I'll start with it here and every few days Move (this) Topic into the main Boards around the forum for good visibility for many members, finishing back here after a week or two. (EEVblog Specific)
Who knows what will happen to it on the way around the forum.
Beginners next.
Over to General Chat.
On to Test Equipment.
Most have had a look at this now so off to Projects, Designs and Techy stuff.
A short stink in Repair.
Another in Metrology.
Over to Manufacturing and Assembly.
A day or so in the Supporters Lounge, but we got stuck there, see reply #29.

Replies welcomed.
Notes.
Thread/reply maintains the same date and time in whatever board as when posted.
As MarkF identifies, there's also a Move Topic button on the bottom left of an OP's page:
