"Started out as a doodle in daveCAD" eh?
Are we talking block diagram or schematic?  Hope you aren't going to try to take a patent out on that one.  I'm pretty sure there is some prior art there.

Congrats Dave!

The Fluke shirt was a nice touch - if I was a marketing guy at Fluke, I'd send you a massive gift package filled with all sorts of awesome now. Toy ( 2.5 digit ) multimeters including.

When I saw him pull the kid out of the box, i was thinking....

OMG!  Please tell me FedEX or DHL did not deliver the kid!  I remember seeing those videos of what they do with the packages.

You old dog! Congratulations.

And let's not all forget the small contribution that Mrs Eevblog made here as well..... ;)

I already sent this to him but I'll repeat for the rest:

I see you got a second "analog" unit (pun intended). Be aware they can be more noisy than the digital ones!

Congrats

Congratulations!

For those of us who find such videos physically painful to watch - did he mention the baby's name?

Huxley.

After Aldous, I'm guessing. Though if Dave was an electrophysiologist it might be after Andrew.

More likely after his grandfather....

Nah, probably Lenina Huxley from Demolition Man. The main protagonist also does teardowns, blows stuff up and can be regularly seen with a large knife. Makes sense.

Ahah, great video, I got a bit scared seeing a baby coming out of the box!

Congratulations to the family and, you know Dave, we want to know "why" this specific name!

Congratulations Dave and Mrs Dave.  :-+
BTW: Dave you don't have to talk that silly to a 4yr old, he is now learning to mimic and you don't want him to talk like that now would you?

Congratulations on the new arrival, and the lack of videos over the last month or so is now explained  :-+ SWMBO here wasn't too keen on Sagan as a first name but she likes Huxley and so do I, we therefore await the arrival of Clarke, Smith, Wells and Asimov.

Perfect sense. Probably it gives also a preview of the next project. Nowadays codenamed as: Project G.I.R.L.
ETA: Presentation in EEVblog #1000 (Come on, that´s doable!)

BTW: Typical engineer.
Started a project. Had thereby fun with fiddling and tweaking (perhaps with the tongue in the right angle).
But the biggest part of the real work of construction was delegated to an other.
After arriving of the complete done order, if it´s a success, then presenting the result as the proud initiator.
It´s always the same...

In every case:

From Germany 12 Points!

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jones!
Best wishes to Sagan and his new pal Huxley!    :-+ :-+ :-+

You need not be afraid, he thankfully did not take it apart.
No, it's just something about a video like that that makes me cringe hard.
Can't quite point it out, however.

Sagan... is he named after Carl Sagan?
Huxley... is he named after Aldous Huxley?

Young Huxley may easily live until the year 2100.

And the latest Windows will be Windows 10.

Congratulations!

(I wonder if he is going to make a video about how to start such a project with the Themal Oven?)
