"Security inspection"  :-DD

Yes, exactly  :-DD

I answered them with:

No.
I know for a fact that this explanation is not true.
I expect to receive my instrument ASAP!

Ordered 4 on 9/27 from 3 different vendors.

All show as shipped as of this morning; we'll see how it plays out...

This really appears to be a hit an miss business... I must have been one of the first to place an order, still before the "big hype" on 26th of september and my order was listed "shipped" but the tracing information stayed more than ten days on "waiting for pick-up by the carrier" or similar. Today I received this information:
...
So good luck to the other "contenders"  ;)

Yeah no thats not fair, you were the first person to link the meter.
If my two show up (both in customs now), one is going to you. Or I will pay cost and shipping of anyone else willing to send one to you (closer to Germany).

Ordered another from Amazon just in case there is leftover stock.

Is this guy on DhGate admitting to falsely shipping an item?

they did the same thing to me and got the same message about the shipment.
and yea thats totally admitting its a false/fake shipment

i am going to let this play out then hit up dhgate for the money they say they give for fake shipping info.

hit me up in private message if you wanna trade tracking numbers, i am betting there the same numbers.

i'm holding their feet tot he fire on this one.

Mine ordered from Manbo life Store on 28 Sept is awaiting shipment. I extended the processing time by 10 days. I'm going to let the clock run down and take the refund. I no longer expect to receive one.

I suppose I'm thankful for not getting BS emails.

I was wondering what step to take next.  ^^^ That was one.

Seeing that you are taking that path, I was thinking I might try sending the seller a message along the lines of "I've waited for the holiday to end plus your normal shipping time and the items have not yet been shipped.  I trust you will attend to this matter soon as I am very keen to get these units."

Does anyone know if this is a good idea, a bad idea - or just a waste of time?

If I do go this way, I will be interested to see what response I get, if any.

Also from same seller on dhgate, two tracking numbers show up in order details. Last digits:

885CN
635YP

Do these match yours? Anyone else, did seller give the same tracking numbers to us all?
mine is different

I sent the person that's collecting my mail a picture and asked her to open the box. She tells me it's exactly like the picture, including all the accessories and stuff. So I have indeed received an actual unit! Probably be at least a week before I'm home to see if it works.

I ordered one from the Manbo life store on the 28th and didn't extend shipping. They "shipped" it with about 4 hours remaining, but the tracking shows only that they have created logistics information - no sign of an actual package yet. I do not have high hopes for this meter.

I it won't cost anything to try. I also think it will be a waste of time.  I'm not going to defend sellers like DHgate but I also don't think the seller I bought from has acted in bad faith. Since I don't actually know what goes on A number of stores listed what looked so similar they could even have been the same store under different names for reasons known only to sellers on Aliexpress or they get stock for one supplier and list the stock level as that of the supplier. I really have no idea so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that the EEVblog effect took them by surprise.

They could just be greedy and we'll see this item sold for months to come at much higher prices. I'm sure that's happened before. Rubidium frequency standards spring to mind.

I'm actively de-cluttering at the moment so they've caught me at a time when one less bargain is no bad thing.

We'll see which of us got lucky, I guess, in the weeks to come.

They didn't have to say "shipped". They haven't for me so  that's something. Not a lot I'll grant you.

I did exactly that with the Mambo store a few days ago and got no reaction whatsoever. I did extend the shipping time but not by 10 days, so there's only one day left now.

Although Aliexpress says shipped on 6th october with TNT,  the shipping nr can not be tracked with independent trackers and the ali site states that the package has not been sent yet.  :o
If I click track order it shows it did not ship yet.  :-//

So if you got a number it can be the pre shipment nr which is only a request to the shipping firm and not a proof something has been shipped. I wait what happens but I guess I also might receive some "solly solly" email in the coming week.

Yeah no thats not fair, you were the first person to link the meter.

Ordered another from Amazon just in case there is leftover stock.

That offer is more than kind an generous of you, and flattering to me -- thanks a lot for it. But to be honest, I placed my order of two of these calibrators more out of curiosity and not because I'ld really need them.

I needed a calibrator that permits to simulate thermocouple signals and bought myself an LB02 for almost ten times the price of the recent "bargain" about a year ago. This unit (albeit also a no-name cheapo) covers all the calibration needs that I expect to run into, at least compared to what the AiMOmeter could offer. So it really wouldn't be reasonable to throw more money (probably more than the initial expense) after the instrument(s) just for shipping. It may not be fair that even though I contributed the first "real" link to the instrument after Dave's "teaser", I didn't get any, but sometimes life just isn't fair and one has to cope with it. I could imagine worse...

So again thank you for your offer, but I guess we should leave it at that.  ;)

All the best,
Thomas

In spite of my DHGate seller being a liar and trying to extort extra $ I can't lodge a claim against his supplied fake tracking number or non shipment until the 28th  :palm: Won't be following up DheadGate with future business after this  :horse:

They all are about the same. Try to do anything with eBay. It is hopeless.

Their logistics is so weird.. I also ordered on Sept 26, "shipped" on sept 27th.
Did you not pay extra for epacket? maybe that screwed something up and both you and Tom got bumped on the queue.

Hopefully someone else in canada ends up with an extra (canada post is offering free shipping this month within the country up to 5kg).

But I can pick up a phone if I need to and talk to evilbay or paypal if needed and in the past on the two occasions I have done this it was taken seriously and moved to resolution quickly.

Even Aliexpress takes fake tracking numbers seriously and I have had prompt credits when done.

I have evidence in messages and the seller admitting the tracking number is false and them trying to gain extra funds to supply in messages but there is ZERO path forward to resolve this until the 28th. My initial contact with their so called customer service was cut off from further messages to them. Will sit on this until the 28th then take it up again.

Interesting: my Manbo life store order is now marked as shipped, I guess 5 minutes before it timed out! The aliexpress tracking page says ready for shipment and shipment time 2019-10-11 09:47:02, but when I check the tracking number on 17track it tells me that the shipping information was received on 2019-09-30 15:30, for a package to the Netherlands via YunExpress. It almost looks like he recycled an old tracking number...

HA!  "Manbo life Store" just changed order status to "Awaiting Delivery"!

Considering my luck with aliexpress shipping the thing should show up some time in the next 3 months.
