Commercial office building towers have common bathrooms on each level.
Renting old space.
Same dumpster room.

A "square" is a strange measurement and is equivalent to 100 square feet (~9.3 square metres).

A "square" is not really a strange unit (at least I don't think so).  It is an area - the area of a square 10ft by 10ft - which is something you can reasonably imagine.  It has been in common usage for domestic dwellings for many decades - and while square metres is becoming more prevalent, the old "square" is still used.

What is funny as hell, though, is when you have someone preparing a listing for a 15 square house and they "correct" the measurement ... to 15 square metres.

Squares are not used in commercial realestate.

in my 40 trips around the sun, ive only ever known area as square meters...(or cm^2, m^2..km^2 etc)..never knew about a square unit..sounds very imperial! guess ya learn something new every day!
i guess the wiki says it was used here historically coz we were once under the imperial system..

I'll wrestle you for it. I've been looking for one of those for a long time but they always go for crazy money on eBay. I think I have an 8085 laying around and some support bits, I guess I could just build my own similar thing. I like that Intel kit because it reminds me of my first computer, which I still have. Similar design, simple hex keypad and some LED displays for address and data, and a fairly simple ROM monitor.

Never seen used here, Meters or to a lessor extent Feet.  What I can't get over is flooring (carpet, tiles etc) companies often still using Sq Yards.   

Are you lining up at Dave's door for first pickings.  Surely SYMBO can't complain if you get it for free (especially if she never sees it)?

Yes - I've never heard it used for commercial properties.  It was always (thousands of) square feet.  Nowadays it's square metres.  "Squares" was a purely domestic property thing.
