Unbalanced signal through balanced cable

Is it possible to use a balanced cable to transmit an unbalanced signal?  I have a video signal that is 75 ohm unbalanced from a video camera and was wondering if I could use a 75 ohm twisted shielded pair in lieu of a 75 ohm coax to transmit that signal to the input of the video receiver.

If the distance is short then it tends not to matter too much with composite video, just ground one of the cores. Longer distances it is possible to buy a BNC to twisted pair balun, popular in CCTV.
