4 Pin Ballast on 2 pin Lamp.
« on: September 25, 2024, 08:12:45 pm »
Hi everyone

I am having a very hard time finding Ballasts for a 13Watt UVC lamp.
My lamp has 2 pins.
My Ballast is a Harvard DKE 13 which has a 4 pin output of which one pair is Temperature Control.
So I can not seem to get it to work on my lamp.

Is it possible to run a 2 pin lamp from a 4 pin ballast?
The reason I am asking is it is really hard to get ballasts for two pin lamps.

Thanks

No, because it will use a high frequency inverter, which won't play nicely with starter and associated RFI suppression capacitor.

The ballast doesn't have temperature control. It has a heater output to power the filaments at the ends of the tube.

All you need is an inductive ballast.
