storing small dill bits <1mm

hi everyone,
i haven't posted much on here as I've been side tracked from my electronics hobby the last 12-18months but i'm wondering what the best way to store drill bits that are 1mm or smaller in size?
i have a whole container full of small drill bits that I've just sorted and stuck some labels on to tell me what sizes they are but its not a very practical way to leave them so im hoping somebody has some ideas on a more efficient way of storage

I've got a set of bits for drilling Jets in carbs, They came in a very nice linear storage box where you select the bit you want by sliding the top to align a small hole with the desired bit. That worked great for years until I dropped it and 30 tiny bits went flying across my garage floor... Now I have 25 tiny drill bits..

I've seen similar sets on eBay, you can't have too many drill bits!

Search for a "bur box"
Or a piece of paper with sizes on a stick of bees wax.  Stab the drill bits in.  Bees wax is good for drilling lube anyhow.
Maybe a worn out solderless breadboard

Plastic pill bottle for all sizes to 3 mm and the ever handy calipers at close reach.
Proper drill index for all the others to 13mm.

cigar tube, that's where I store mine. So long as you don't shake it like a rattle and put it somewhere dry.

Not too bulky and you can write the size on the box.

I order my bits from drill bit city (I think they have a yahoo store, an ebay store, and a normal web site)

Anyways, when I do, they come in a really awesome storage compartment - but it's for PCB drill bits with a 1/4 shank.

Something like this - but the ones I get usually SLIDE open(not clam shell), and protect the bits really well.

High density polyurethane foam block, and poke them into it. Then put in a small box that will fit the foam.

Places that sell expensive bits send them in nice boxes, like the one on the picture. Such box tends to last much longer than the bits, I use it to store bits bought on eBay.

A really cheap method is to use corrugated cardboard to make a sort of drill index.  The cardboard goes on edge, and you slip the bits into the corrugations.
Then you stick a piece of paper on the front to write the sizes.  Obviously the cardboard has to stay vertical, or all the bits fall out.
