My backup soldering iron is an old Tandy/Radio Shack job. It needs a new tip. It looks like a Weller SL325 and AFAICT it takes a PL style tip -- seems to be 1/4 inch x 28 TPI thread, or something close. I think a PL series tip will fit. Astonishingly, these seem to be like hen's teeth. I expected to find a pack of 5 assorted styles for $10 on Amazon, but instead they start at almost $20 for a single tip.
Is there a cheaper source out there that could get me one in Canada? At $20, I think I will just ditch the whole iron and pick up one that fits a more readily available tip. Seems like a shame though.
