Hi,

If anyone is interested in proper techniques for SMT and through hole soldering, you might want to check out the videos on the IPC website. For each of their expensive training videos, they offer a low resolution download for you to evaluate the video. Not great quality, but still watchable. The site covers soldering, assembly, rework, etc.

The IPC videos are okay but slow and boring. I recommend these to start:
