I use "E4" for my electrolytics but am having a hard time deciding what series to use, whether to use E6 which i can fit with the remaining space i have or E12 which i can fit also but which one makes more sense and is more economical to use
My resistor series as recommended by dave

I've never heard of E4 before, normally electronics are found in E3, less often E6, occasionally E12 and very rarely other odd values.

As a general rule, you only need E3 between 10nF and 1uF as this range is normally only used for supply decoupling, below 10nF you may want to go with E12 or even E24 but it depends on what you're doing,

it was "devised" as a e-cap sorting by me  :-X

But i guess i will use E6 because i have been doing weird stuff that requires more then just 3 values.

It depends on what's most inconvenient for you, stocking loads of values or using two components in series/parallel to get the right value. It's possible to make any E12 value pretty accurately from just two E3 values or any E24 value from two E6 values. The attached table shows this with resistors but it'll work with capacitors, if they're connected in series rather than parallel or vice versa.

I think E3 will be fine
