Hello All.
I am currently modifiying a Apple G5 Power Supply to an ATX form factor (I all create a separate thread for this when I am finished with the project)
I have a quick question about the sense wires on these power supplies. From what I have read the sense wires are basically feedback to the power supply about the voltage on a 5 or 3.3 volt rail. And when the voltage drops the power supply will know to increase the voltage on that specific rail.
So on the G5 Power Supply there are 3.3V and 5V sense wires. On the ATX motherboard connector there is a dedicated 3.3v sense wire, but nothing for the 5V sense.
I plan to just solder the 5V sense wire to the 5 Volt supply wire just before the ATX connector, is this an acceptable approach ?
